On the Feast of St. Nicholas of Myra 2009, I first introduced my blog readers to Brian McLaren with this post. He had been kind enough to allow me to quote extensively from this book, everything must change, as I offered my own reflections on it.
Earlier this year, on the Feast of Alphege of Canterbury (I don't expect you to know this date: April 19), Brian led a day-long conference at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Barrington, Illinois. You can read about it here.
I purchased his latest book, A New Kind of Christianity, asked his permission once again to quote and reflect, and once again he graciously consented.
I was amazed, astounded, and so excited by his insights that you will see a link to his book not only in my blog's Current Reading list, but also as the third book on what I consider to be The Essential Bookshelf.
