Dearly Beloved,
FIVE TALENTS COMING TO VISIT
Since 2005, the Missions Board has supported Five Talents, an inspiring ministry whose website describes their mission this way:
"Five Talents fights poverty, creates jobs and transforms lives, empowering the poor using innovative savings and microcredit programs, business training and spiritual development.
"The basis for our name, Matthew 25:14-30 . . . 'Master,' he said, 'You have entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.' His master replied. 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful in a few things; I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.'
"We carry out this mission in partnership with the Anglican Communion."
Five Talents has programs in 11 countries including Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Burundi, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Dominican Republic, Tanzania, Bolivia, and Peru.
Craig Cole, Five Talents CEO, will preach; and he and Mary Elizabeth Campbell, the Director of Major Gifts for Five Talents, will present a special Adult Forum about their work.
CATCHING UP DEPARTMENT
Four weeks ago Mother Leigh VanderMeer preached on the Beatitudes, and a copy of her sermon― along with the original version of the modern Beatitudes she quoted― are now available here.
And two weeks ago Bishop Victor Scantlebury preached, and a reconstruction of his sermon is available here.
At each service, the Bishop told a funny story before his more serious tale about "The evil you do stays with you, the good you do comes back to you."

We are always looking for new volunteers to join our ranks. Please contact one of the co-chairs if you have an interest in obtaining information or volunteering for this wonderful ministry.

A SOLDIER'S THANKS
Marilee Morrison received this thank you note from Amy Stoniecki:
Thank you so much to you and your church for being so generous with the care packages. It is so very thoughtful. Hope the rest of the winter isn't too harsh for Chicago area! (I've been getting updates from my dad in Geneva.) Thank you for all the prayers. You can definitely keep those coming. : )
PRESCHOOL BOARD MEMBER MIKE HILL'S MANNA ANNOUNCEMENT
"Please remember to bring your check book to church on Sunday so that you can purchase gift cards to many of the stores you buy from every week.
"If you use gift cards to make your purchases as places like Wal-Mart, Target, Jewel, Dominicks, Fannie Mae, LL Bean, and many more, some of the proceeds will go to our Preschool. Keep in mind that there is no pledge or donation here but rather for every $1 gift card purchase you make, you get $1 in store purchases― and the Preschool gets a percentage of your purchase as well!"
March Manna orders are due by Sunday, March 6, and the cards will be distributed on March 29.
Faithfully yours,
REPORT AND PICTURES FROM KERMIT TITRUD OF SIL INTERNATIONAL . . .
whom we at St. Gregory's have supported for over 20 years, recently emailed some photographs from Bangalore, India. He and his wife Raquel have been there for over a month, training translators to become consultants so they too can help check the accuracy of the Bible translation work going on throughout Asia.
Here are pictures of Kermit and Raquel on the grounds of the conference center . . .
. . . and Raquel in front of one of the sleeping units – 8 dormitory type bedrooms to each unit.
There are seven Filipinos at this consultant training workshop. I have been asked to be Meriam's mentor after the workshop. She is the one on the left. We have already been making plans for her to join us in Mindoro for the month of August, when once again we plan to work with the Mangyan translations.
